Tara A. Elliott’s poems have appeared in The TAOS Journal of International Poetry & Art, Wildness,  The American Journal of Poetry, and Stirring among others.  Tara teaches English Language Arts as a middle grades teacher on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  As the founder and director of Salisbury's Poetry Week, further outreach includes her role as President of the Eastern Shore Writers Association, and co-chair of the yearly Bay to Ocean Writers Conference.  As the 2018 recipient of the Maryland Humanities' Christine D. Sarbanes Teacher of the Year Award, she is pleased to also have been honored twice by the Wicomico County Public Library as both the Educator Luminary (2016) and the Adult Luminary (2020) for the Light of Literacy Awards.  She also served as the 2018 Poet-in-Residence for the Freeman Stage, and is a fellow of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA).
